Cassette is back with another live improvised collab set from two of Minneapolis’ finest purveyors of experimental electronic music!
If you’ve been anywhere near the techno scene you know Ross Hutchens to be a truly gifted and prolific artist – one of the most creative people pushing modular synthesis to its limits. Delivering pummeling peak hour sets at raves, introspective arrhythmic ambient performances and anything in between – Lonefront has proven himself to be one of the most promising artists to come out of Minneapolis in recent years.
IE (pronounced “eee”) is a five-piece devoted to experiences of hypnotic minimalism— sonic rituals from the future and ambient, desert soundscapes. Their shows feature sustained tones, electronic whirrs, slow beats, video and film projections, metaphysical recitations, and carefully crafted atmospheres. With releases on the behemoth psychedelic label Moon Glyph, Shinkoyo and the late MJ MJ Records, and countless unique live performances – IE has been crafting their compositional style with care and a master’s focus for years.
Cassette is proud to present a one night only, hour long collaborative set with these two pioneers of soundcraft beginning at 9:30 pm sharp. Don’t be late!
As always, the Cassette Residents Naughty Wood and Sasha B. Ware will be throwing down thee most out of left field dance floor cuts ever put to tape before and after the performance, with Mach Fox bringing it down with trippy visuals, lasers and heavy fog.
