Cassette is back with another live improvised collab set, this time from two of Minneapolis’ most creative and prolific musical minds –
Ian Lehman (aka Doubt)
What can even be said about Ian. . . Outside of the midwest underground his music is known, loved and feared on dance floors around the world. Just as likely to deliver pummeling pound-me-in-the-ass minimal techno to dirty warehouses in Eastern Europe as he is to play a five hour vapor wave set to close out one of the most storied festivals in the history of dance music – this madman has been constantly creating new and unheard of sounds throughout his decades long career. Known for his signature swamped out, minimal dub techno that sounds like it leaked out of the funkiest sewer drain, those who know know not to miss a damn thing this man puts out.
Jon Davis (aka Ghostband)
You know him, you love him. One of the hardest working guys in show business in Minneapolis – Jon is not only one of the best sound engineers in the city, a producer of electronic music spanning too many styles to name, but also an accomplished and well-schooled jazz player. He will be taking the stage to accompany Ian with an array of wind instruments, electronic gizmo’s and anything else this genius decides to bring to the table.
Cassette is proud to present a one night only, hour long collaborative set with these two pioneers of sound craft beginning at 10:00 pm sharp. Don’t be late!
As always, the Cassette Residents Naughty Wood and Sasha B. Ware will be throwing down thee most out of left field dance floor cuts ever put to tape before and after the performance, with Mach Fox bringing it down with trippy visuals, lasers and heavy fog.
