Daniel (guitar) and Adrian Volovets (flute, violin, tenor/soprano saxophone, piano, harpsichord, pipe organ) are a duo specializing in a unique combination of classical, flamenco, Latin-American, and jazz music, including innovative arrangements of old favorites and original compositions. Their telepathic musical communication, technical virtuosity, and soulful interpretations have brought them critical acclaim and captivated audiences throughout the Twin Cities.
Although born in the United States, Daniel and Adrian’s music is informed first and foremost by their Russian heritage. They were raised in a household of almost constantly reverberating musical notes — passionate and melancholy melodies of Russian and Ukrainian folklore, gently swaying Brazilian rhythms, and fiery strumming of flamenco masters, just to name a few.
Daniel is graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School in May and will be pursuing a career in psychiatry starting with residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. Adrian is an undergraduate at the University of Minnesota pursuing a B.A. in Organ Performance, afterward planning to pursue graduate studies, specifically a Master’s in Conducting and a Doctoral degree in Organ Performance.
